You've shared something...Good to hear from you. You've shared something I did not known about. That some of the Watkins children lived with him, that I knew. I believe that the 11 year old girl, Pency, that lived with him in 1870 was Pency Porter, and was counted with her mother also, just 2 houses below the Drews. Pency was an unusual name, and they are both 11. Maybe she was just visiting, or even working, when the census taker came around, her mother was a widow. Sallie Kelly, I didn't know about. When did she live on the Drew place?Jobs Childrenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01174076455709314538noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2375362520152724170.post-2473531276345044582021-11-20T17:34:42.434-08:002021-11-20T17:34:42.434-08:00I am the descendant of Jeremiah (also Calvin Watki...I am the descendant of Jeremiah (also Calvin Watkins) and another resident on the Drew plantation- Sally Kelly. Sally had 2 children prior to her marriage, Josephine and Atlas. When Atlas died, his widow lived with Reddick afterward.
I could never understand the relationship all of these families had with Reddick Drew on his property, all of these children in and out of his home, and if any were biologically his. Family lore says Josephine and Atlas were. Atlas didn’t list a father on his marriage certificate.
Find Me on the Coasthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13004832597549464585noreply@blogger.com
